((+yesterday, I took a walk in the rain)){{and I walked and walked and walked}}*not knowing where I was going*
sheet paper after sheet paper littered the hardwood, rug-decorated floor and suddenly another piece silently fell and landed on top of another. piano notes filled the room with sound before they were cut off by a deafening combination of them in frustration. tenley halliwell growled and turned off the yamaha keyboard that stood right up against the light sky blue walls of her bedroom. nothing was coming to her today, and she needed to get the composition done for her music class. luckily, she had the entire weekend, and monday to figure it out. usually things just came to her, but creativity was lacking inside tenley's mind. that was the strangest part about it. how could the most creative girl in the halliwell family be so uncreative right now? maybe it was sleep, maybe it was the fact that she was still partially hung-over from the night before, but whatever it was, creativity was gone for the creative girl.
instead, she turned the keyboard back on and set the notes to a different sound other than grand piano. her fingers pushed the keys ever so slightly, and soon they were seemingly racing across the board, playing a familiar song that happened to be tenley's favorite, only with her own spin on it--poker face by lady gaga. she usually sang along with it too, but since she had left her door open, the room wasn't soundproof like it normally was when she played. not that tenley didn't like other people hearing her sing, but it kinda got annoying to them. her composition was a bit more up-tempo than the normal piano version, and it had a more of a techno vibe to it, much like the normal song, but still had that slow waltzy quality to it.
she hummed along with it though, and smiled slightly when she finished it. getting up from the hot pink chair that she had been sitting in, she jumped on her bed, platinum ice blonde hair flying up from the air, and coming back down in divided pieces. she grabbed her pillow and hugged it tightly to her. she'd close her eyes, but that would mean sleep. tenley really didn't like sleeping all that much, which was why she was always out partying. her dreams were always premonitions, and mostly, they were premonitions that tenley did not like. also, sleeping meant her shield was down, and that she could probably hear every single thought in the house. something else she didn't want.

On her way to Andy and her bedroom, Prue heard the sound of a keyboard going. A smile came on her lips, her daughter's working on her project already and that's a good thing considering at least someone cares about their education. But she wondered how she is doing so far. She followed the sound of a version of Poker Face up to the room itself, and this brought out a memory to Prue. She remembered the first time her daughter had gotten into the singer and even was told how she looked a bit like her. She and Andy used to call her Lady Ten-ga ga or Lady Gaga II. Or better yet, Andy's little Monster. To Prue, out of all the children, Tenley has the more creative side when it comes to her room. Blue walls, a pink chair, even purple pillows (those were a gift from Prue and Andy for her tenth birthday with T H initials on each of them) adorned the room. She approached the room and stuck her head in. "Hey," she said after she gave the door a knock, "knock knock. Can I come in?" Maybe she would let her to come in. Sure she's her daughter but still manners. You can't just walk in. She hoped her daughter was doing good at it and maybe if she wants she could give her a few little Halliwell tips of her own since after all there was other members who was creative and felt a bit lost. Like her sister Paige when she had no muse for a painting. With some tips viola, she had created one. And also Prue had some tips given to her from one of the workers at 415 Magazine as well, so its not all bad to get tips.

((+yesterday, I took a walk in the rain)){{and I walked and walked and walked}}*not knowing where I was going*
despite what she didn't want, tenley's eyes closed slightly, and she slowed her breathing, creating a relaxed mood for her. something she hadn't been in a long while. tenley had been on edge, with school, senior year, and now the whole mess of her brother becoming evil. she didn't know how she was handling it, but she seemed to be just fine. she put the pillow over her face and sighed into it. rolling over onto her stomach, her long hair moved, revealing the tattoo of daisies on her upper left shoulder, and (because she was wearing a half top, due to the heat in the house) the tattoo of roses on her lower back. like mostly everything else about tenley, no one knew about them. they only knew about the peace sign on her left wrist, and the groups of stars on both of her feet. she really didn't care if anyone else found out, it was their fault for not paying attention anyways.
hearing the slight knock on the door, tenley looked up from her pillow and saw her mother's face peering in with a smile on her lips. "hey... knock knock, can it come in?" tenley sat up and fixed her hair slightly, and nodded. "um... sure..." she said, looking around. "sorry if it's a bit messy. i--i haven't had time to clean up...." she added, getting up to pick up the scattered and fallen sheet music papers. feeling her hair was a mess for this job, she grabbed a rubber band off her desk and tied the natural blonde hair back into a sloppy bun, leaving her straight cut bangs alone. there was nothing she could do with them for now.
as she put the papers back on the keyboard, she turned it off, realizing that she had forgotten to the second time. not that it really, really mattered, but sometimes the cat would come into her room and start stepping on the keys. she remembered the first time she ever had the keyboard and that happened, and she instantly thought it was haunted. but since she got her two dogs, who were lying on their beds in her walk-in closet, the cat hardly ever came in anymore. tenley sat back down on the bed, blinking away the sleep that wanted to come, and looked up at her mother. "so... what's up?" she asked. there had to be something that prue wanted to talk about. tenley only hoped that it wasn't about certain somethings.

"Its okay," Prue replied walking in the room over some of the stuff that was on the floor. She looked around the room seeing that it was indeed messy but no one's perfect but then she thought about well...a certain person. Anyway, she then sat down onto the pink chair nearby her bed. "Oh nothing was on my way to your dad and my room when I heard music coming from here. So, speaking of that, how's the music thing going? Are you almost done?" It was indeed she had been told that she's preparing for it so that was why she heard the music or maybe she was just playing around. Either one, Prue was proud of her baby though, she has to admit that. "Do you need any help with that? And yeah it is a bit messy. Be sure to have it cleaned or your dad would notice it or worse, your aunt Piper and we all know what she's like if there was a mess." Yep that's her sister though she usually does that! Prue lent out a chuckle remembering the days when Piper used to go nuts if someone makes a mess. "I also wanted to just come up to chat with one of my babies that's all. If that's okay."

((+yesterday, I took a walk in the rain)){{and I walked and walked and walked}}*not knowing where I was going*
"it's okay..." tenley rolled her eyes in a sarcastic manner. yeah right it was okay. well, prue hardly ever got onto her about her room. it was mostly everyone else that got on to her. hey, she couldn't help it, tenley didn't have much free time, and what free time she had she used to do other things outside of the house. emerald eyes watched her mother sit down on the pink chair, and tenley moved her position to lay on her stomach once more, facing the woman. starting to twirl a strand of hair out of habit, tenley listened to her mother's voice, trying to pay more attention to that then the void of ideas that weren't inside her mind. "oh nothing, was on my way to your dad's and my room when i heard music coming from here. so, speaking of that, how's the music thing going? are you almost done?"
tenley shook her head in response and sighed in depression about it. "not even close. nothing's coming to my head, and everything just sounds so wrong," she replied, glancing at a poster on her bulletin board, reporting the upcoming spring showcase. "i've got a few weeks, but the first few bars are due on tuesday...." tenley explained, silently hoping and wishing that she could get a few things done. but something needed to happen. something always had to happen for her to write her music or her songs. she really didn't want to say that the poker face thing was her screwing around, because neither her mother or father liked it when she screwed around when homework was supposed to be done, tenley didn't even like it herself.
"do you need any help with that? and yeah it is a bit messy. be sure to have it cleaned or your dad will notice it, or worse, your aunt piper. and we all know what she's like if there is a mess." tenley laughed. yup, there was no greater cleanliness nazi than piper halliwell. tenley had experienced first hand the wrath that her aunt could bring if one didn't clean up after themselves. her dad was pretty strict about it too, but tenley always kept her door shut, mostly, and so no one could ever see what the room really looked like, unless she was grounded. "no, i'm fine. just some paper, among other things," like boys' boxer shorts, and various bras that she could pass off as her own pajamas, even if they weren't really hers. "and i know... usually it's not like this. you know me... clean clean clean. but with everything... i just can't keep up with stuff." she said, referring to her bother, alex.
tenley smiled slightly at her mother's words: "i also wanted to just come up to chat with one of my babies that's all. if that's okay." nodding, tenley put her head on her hands, to lift it off the bed. "yeah. it's fine..." she smiled. "and i'm not a baby anymore mom. i'm eighteen..." she said, with a matter-of-fact tone. but it still wouldn't matter. tenley was prue's youngest and only daughter. she was always going to be the baby no matter what. even in her group of friends, she was the youngest. it never seemed to escape her.

Prue sadly nodded at the mention of the other things, knowing full on well what Tenley had meant. Ever since Alex had gone evil, things been different. Only two of her children remained on the good side and it was hard for Prue as well for Andy to see their beloved son going from good to evil, not to mention Piper's, Phoebe's and Paige's own child turning to the darkside too, even Chris who was said to be like her. "I understand. Look I will help you out with the cleaning part and if you like I could see if there is some creative juice to help with the music too. What do you say? I normally would have told you to clean up too but you've got a lot on your mind it wouldn't be right to pressure you more. So while I do the cleaning, you grab your keyboard and let's see if we can work on something." She stood onto her feet and stuck out her hand ready to use her telekinesis. "What do you say?" Prue chuckled. "Still you're my little girl. You always will be regardless of how old you are." She walked over first to give her daughter a kiss on her head and then stepped back since she is ready to do her magic.

((+yesterday, I took a walk in the rain)){{and I walked and walked and walked}}*not knowing where I was going*
tenley could sense that since she brought up alex, the mood had slightly changed a bit. it always did when one would bring up one of the corrupted kids. tenley couldn't help but feel sad herself. it wasn't the same without both of her brothers. her eyes moved down slightly to the floor and she felt herself tearing up slightly. blinking them away, she didn't want to ruin her make-up.
"i understand. look, i'll help you out with the cleaning part and if you like, i could see if there is some creative juice to help with the music too. what do you say? i normally would have told you to clean up too but you've got a lot on your mind it wouldn't be right to pressure you more. so, while I do the cleaning, you grab your keyboard and let's see if we can work on something." tenley stood up and nodded, walking over to the chair, and sitting down next to it. she turned on her laptop, and the keyboard, plugging a usb cord into the computer and waited a few minutes, before she loaded the program up. she was so thankful that she had got this for her birthday, it totally beat writing down the notes, while instead they just appeared on the computer. "mom, are you sure you wanna try and help? no offense, but you and dad are musically challenged, according to john..." she said looking back.
tenley blushed slightly as she felt her mother's lips on her forehead. "still you're my little girl. you always will be regardless of how old you are." the girl knew that one was coming. it was basically what she said every time tenley argued that she could do things now, because of her age. however, there were some things that tenley did that she would never tell. like every other halliwell in the house, ten had her secrets. suddenly, she looked slightly surprised. "mom, you're going to use magic for personal gain!? i'm shocked..." truly, she was. prue was the poster-child for non-magical gain uses for magic, and here she was breaking her own rule--even though the kids always broke the rule no matter the reason.

"Hey I'm not that musically challenged. If you remember, your aunts and I loved to listen to music even had started managing P3. Okay so maybe I'm NOT into making music but I know some music. I'm not that old now." Prue lent out a chuckle and then another soon after. "I was kidding. Yeah you got me I am the one who thinks using magic for personal gain is a big no no but here's a secret, once I used it to clean up the attic. There, I admit it. But I am not kidding about this mess. I'll clean it up you should get to your music it'll help you clear out your mind." Prue decided to do the same thing she had done when she first recieved her powers by squinting her eyes and watched as Tenley's bras and boxers flew inside the closet. Another squint, it neatly folded and set aside inside the closet. Then she picked up some of the other papers with hand and set them neatly as a stack near the laptop. "Viola, like I said a little doesn't hurt but that will be the only time I will. Anyway, show me what you got so far. I could look at the notes and see if you had it wrong or anything of the sort." She leaned against the desk and folded her arms across her chest following by crossing her legs as well.

"hey! i'm not that musically challenged... if you remember, your aunts and i loved to listen to music even had started managing P3. okay so maybe i'm NOT into making music, but i know some music. i'm not that old now."
tenley rolled her emerald green eyes again. "don't tell me, i'm not the one who said it... talk to your eldest before you get onto me about it..." she said, a small smirk coming onto her face. yes, she loved her big brother, but she when the opportune was right, she had to take the chance to get him in trouble. since they were little, tenley and jonathan had always been at odds with each other since tenley could argue back about who was the most spoiled and believable: the trustworthy eldest son, or the little princess of their parents' eyes. unfortunately, alex hadn't been included. he had the middle child syndrome. tenley couldn't help but laugh at the end, not out of being mean, but seriously? fifty wasn't that old? right. "well, mom, sometimes you could fool me...
"i was kidding. yeah, you got me... i am the one who thinks using magic for personal gain is a big no-no but here's a secret, once i used it to clean up the attic. there, i admit it. but i am not kidding about this mess. i'll clean it up, you should get to your music; it'll help you clear out your mind."
"wow... you're so naughty...." tenley replied laughing, as she looked at the screen of the computer making sure it was working. she played 'mary had a little lamb', the easy way, just to make sure. the notes appeared, and she exited out and pulled up a new page. her fingers were poised, and as she watched the items fly about her room, putting themselves in perfect neat places, something was coming to her. she pushed the first key and she watched the note appear on the screen. within a few seconds, tenley's fingers were flying and racing back and forth across the piano, at the same time the notes appearing the way she played them. rather than watch her fingers (something she hardly did anyways) she watched the screen. suddenly it turned to maybe about three or four pages of music, and with a final combination, she was finished.
"like I said, a little doesn't hurt but that will be the only time i will. anyway, show me what you got so far. I could look at the notes and see if you had it wrong or anything of the sort."
she looked around, and her eyes sparkled. her room was clean again. "thank-you mommy! she said, her voice becoming high-pitched like when she was a child again. tenley nodded. she turned the computer towards her mother, knowing full well that the sheet music would probably be a bunch of gibberish to her. "i entitle it.... um...?" she always had trouble titling her compositions. sometimes she felt they were just too good to have a name. not that she was conceited, but considering that she had started the piano at age four by just listening to it, well, tenley's musical side had a large ego.

Prue rolled her eyes. She would have to talk to John about that and ask him as to why he thinks his mother doesn't know that much about music. Sheesh she was one of the owners of a nightclub hello...okay now that its run by Piper's kids but still. "Yeah don't remind me. I think I would have to talk to him." She chuckled and shook her head. "Fifty isn't that old, sweety. At least not for me. I still feel and look like I am 30. This is what you get with taking good care of yourself. Anyway, still I'm not THAT old. Not sure about your father. But don't tell him I said that, he'd not be one happy daddy." Yep she'd be stuck not able to give him a hug for a week perhaps. But she still loves her Andy!
Prue laughed. "Yep bad little mommy huh?" she asked. While she was working her magic, her daughter began setting up and she didn't concentrate on watching her daughter but with the cleanup. At least her room is easiest to clean than of her two sons. They're another story. When Alex was good, he had a messy room but John was the one she had to remind over and over to clean up. Not that Alex was out of loop, his was messy too. Boys can be boys. And by the time she was finished, her daughter was finished too. Yep her daughter is talented though she was proud of her now. "Hey good job sweetie!" Prue exclaimed. "You're very welcome, Tenley. Just don't tell your aunt Piper or your dad for that matter." She gave her a wink and then looked at the notes as she had turned it around to face her. "Hm okay how about this? Write down potential titles, but after you hum out the music. Look through books too, that could help with finding inspiration."

tenley grinned when she said she'd have a talk with him. excellent, but now she would have to be ready for some type of retaliation prank from him. but what could he do? all she had to do was play the little princess puppy face card, and bam, trouble instantly. she laughed inside her mind evilly, though she really wasn't evil. with a small sigh, she nodded in agreement. to eighteen year old tenley, fifty was pretty old. old enough to be her grandma, maybe. but that's what one got for being born in someone's life at a later age. she didn't say anything though and only laughed at the comment about her dad. "and we don't want that..." she said, still laughing.
"yep. bad little mommy, huh?"
"well, considering some of the things i've heard from aunt phoebe, well, you were worse than naughty..." okay, aunt phoebe probably wasn't that much better, but after martial arts training, she would sit and tell stories about past things that her mother used to do, making tenley feel a bit okay about some of the things she did. not that any of her choices were okay, but at least she had a little bit of a comparison to prue now. tenley was different, in looks and personality, she felt it, and sometimes, it didn't feel good.
"hey good job sweetie! you're very welcome, tenley. just don't tell your aunt piper or your dad for that matter... hmmmm, okay how about this? write down potential titles, but after you hum out the music. look through books too, that could help with finding inspiration."
she sighed and looked around her room. even though it was clean, it had always been void of any books. tenley didn't read, unless it was something or anything about music, or gossip magazines, or the latest edition of cosmo. "eh... it's alright. i can come up with something before class on tuesday... she said, shrugging it off. the hard part was over and done with. as far as she knew she didn't have anything else with school to do. she saved the sheet music to the computer, unplugged everything and turned it off (she'd print it out later, and downstairs where the printer was).
tenley looked up at her mother and glanced away. maybe she should say something while it was still fresh in her mind. it was something she wanted to tell her mom ever since well one of her best friends stayed the night a few weeks ago. "mom, can i tell you something? and you have to promise not to freak out on me..." honestly, maybe it wouldn't be as bad as when she was caught at a club for the first time, caught drinking alcohol with her best friends at a party a block away, or even if she told her that she wasn't a virgin any more. she had to hope.

Prue started to laugh thinking about how her husband would have scowled being called an "old man" and the reaction too. "Nope we sure don't. Once I had called him an old man and boy did he ever give me a look. But that's still your dad." That was when Prue tilted her head to the left. "Oh was I? No not really in fact I was the one who tried to make sure things don't go out of hand. Who told you that?" if it was Phoebe, then she'd understand completely. Phoebe can be Phoebe and at least she didn't sneak out and try to steal stuff like Phoebe had done. Sure Prue had her moments but she wasn't exactly a bad guy.
"Okay, I'm sure it'd be great, knowing you you would come up with one instantly," Prue added. Out of all her children, Tenley was the more creative one, aside from Jonathan though. She could imagine the two of them go out and become a duo like Evan and Jarren or something. She brought that up once but well the two of them wasn't sure about that. It would've been great. "Sure sweetie, what's on your mind?" Okay well she is now curious as to what she had in mind. "You didn't go and steal something did you? You know how your father would feel about that." That would be the last thing Prue needs, is another thief. Well here goes nothing...

"nope we sure don't. once I had called him an old man and boy, did he ever give me a look. but that's still your dad."
"i know... tenley said, with a small roll of her emerald colored eyes. she would never disrespect her father in front of his face. tenley knew better than that. she was raised better than that. but inside her mind or outside of the halliwell manor, well, she could get a little out-of-hand, but that was only because of the over-protectiveness of her father. he was an ex-cop, but still, did that mean he had to go and put a damper on all of tenley's fun? kinda, yeah. and did that mean that tenley would actually follow said restrictions to her fun? no it didn't.
"oh was i? no ,not really in fact i was the one who tried to make sure things don't go out of hand. who told you that?
tenley wanted to laugh so badly, but she had to compose herself. okay, maybe some of the things weren't so bad, but you wouldn't expect them to be done by prue. she didn't seem that way. "aunt phoebe... she remembered when you and daddy started dating the second time around, and on the first date... well, mom, you were a sleaze..." tenley laughed out. "sex on the first date? i never pegged you down for that..." she added afterwards. she knew she was gonna get a death glare for that. sure tenley had done 'it', but she didn't on the first date...
"sure, sweetie, what's on your mind? you didn't go and steal something did you? you know how your father would feel about that."
the look that came on her face next was a mix of appalling and shocked. sure tenley was a wide child, but she would never, ever steal something. "no!" she exclaimed, her blonde eyebrows furrowing now in slight anger. she couldn't believe that one was thrown out there. "i'd never steal anything! except your hairdryer..." she admitted. her arms were now crossed and she breathed in and out to calm down. this wasn't going to be easy, for both of them. tenley looked down to the floor, feeling she wouldn't get in trouble for saying this to it, rather than her mother. "you know all the times i had my friends over and up here for sleepovers...? well, we weren't exactly sleeping..." tenley admitted, her cheeks now turning a bright shade of pink. "i mean we weren't doing that... but the thing is mom... i like girls, in the same way that i like boys..." she only hoped that her mother would get what she was saying. no one in the family knew she was bi-sexual, and absolutely nobody except for jonathan knew it. "let's just say, i kissed a lot of girls... and i liked it..."
she was ready for the freak out now.

"Hey, that's different. I was very young back then and besides, when you felt you wanted to at that moment then you can. Also I've known your father for a long time before that so it wasn't like I picked him up from a nightclub or something. Your aunt Phoebe forgot to realize that. I think I should remind her of HER mistakes too," Prue noted while giving her daughter first a stern look but dropped it from her face since well kids can be kids.
A gasp came from Prue's face. "You did? When?" then she paused and waved her arm. "You can take it whenever you want but next time ask. Besides you're not the first to take something without asking. Don't tell me your aunts got you into that habit," a roll of her eyes came. When she asked, Prue nodded. Then her daughter continued even mentioning about the second part. She was going to say something but after her daughter's cheeks grew to a color of pink and then added about that it wasn't of sex, she lent out a relief sigh. But the next part, now that was a shock. "Wha-wait, when? Wait hold on just a sec. You even kiss girls too? When did this happen? How come you didn't tell me before? What the hell is going on?" now she stood and ran her hands through her hair. "Tenley, I love you, but already I'm dealing with my son being evil and now, this? Okay wait did you tell your father about this? Or am I the first one you told?"

"hey, that's different. i was very young back then and besides, when you felt you wanted to at that moment then you can. also I've known your father for a long time before that so it wasn't like i picked him up from a nightclub or something. your aunt phoebe forgot to realize that. I think I should remind her of HER mistakes too..."
tenley simply shrugged. "still... you did it... before marriage too." tenley couldn't help but feel a bit wicked as she spoke. what was that whole speech she got from her parents about not having sex before marriage? then she finds out that her parents were hypocrites. well, tenley had to poke fun at it. she couldn't be helped, but she said it in a joking matter, so her mother would be more understanding about it--hopefully. tenley totally noticed the stern look her mother gave her for a few seconds before it dropped away and out of sight. "but it's okay mom, i understand. you and daddy love each other... even before you got married and had us..."
"you did? when? you can take it whenever you want but next time ask. besides you're not the first to take something without asking. don't tell me your aunts got you into that habit..."
"when i went down to disneyland last year for spring break," tenley replied with a slight shrug as though getting in trouble for taking her mother's belongings was actually nothing. "effy took my hair dryer, because hers was taken by sasha, who's was taken by annie, who's was taken by aunt paige, who's was taken by aunt piper, because aunt phoebe forgot that she had aunt piper's... she said, not even stopping for breath through the whole thing. "and it's not a habit. i don't go around stealing things... i'm not some little criminal you know... that's what alex is doing..." she said, feeling a bit angered. she didn't mean to bring up alex like that, but it was easy to irritate tenley these days with just one little thing said.
"Wha-wait, when? Wait hold on just a sec. You even kiss girls too? When did this happen? How come you didn't tell me before? What the hell is going on? Tenley, I love you, but already I'm dealing with my son being evil and now, this? Okay wait did you tell your father about this? Or am I the first one you told?"
tenley gulped only slightly. now she was nervous, she wondered how hard it was going to be for johnny to say his piece, if he would ever say it. it was very hard for tenley to explain, because hardly anyone else, unless they were like her, did not understand. she didn't like girls as much as she liked boys, but there was a slight attraction to them that sometimes she couldn't ignore. "yes mom. i kiss girls... well, they kiss me, whatever way, we kiss... she rolled her eyes slightly. "for a while it's been going on. sleepovers here, sleepovers at their house.... it doesn't matter... sometimes there'll even be a giant group of spin the bottle...." her face was straight as she said it, to prove that she wasn't joking, no matter how much she kinda wanted to she wasn't going to elaborate on how far the kissing got though. it seemed a bit too awkward for tenley to talk about with her mother. "it's hard to explain, it's just... i like them... i still like boys though mom, really i like boys... i'm bisexual mom... i go both ways... it's the reason why... why paul broke up with me... paul was her boyfriend since freshman year. he still went the regular high school that all her cousins had gone to, while tenley switched over to her private performing arts school--that was a strain on their relationship. then when he caught tenley kissing another girl at a summer beach party, the august before they became seniors, that was the last straw--his parents raised him with very conservative views. "well, second... i told johnny first..." she admitted, her cheeks turning an even brighter color. "and like hell i would tell dad first! he'd probably be in the hospital from having a heart attack about it!"
