* so follow me down, OUT OF THIS TOWN, ( girl you’re moving way too slow, so follow me down, I’ll show you around ). life had never been well simple for phoebe halliwell, actually there wasn't one time in history where she could even put her own name and the word simple together. it just wasn't meant to happen at any point. today and well this year just wasn't going to be simple. phoebe had been stricken with doubt, doubt that wouldn't be there if one night fifteen years ago hadn't happened at all. phoebe was happily married with coop and her two daughters annie and liddiyah but then cole happened. yes she saw cole once again, if vanquishing his sorry arse numerous times wasn't enough he just kept finding ways to come back. of course phoebe had learnt to love again but the love for cole hadn't siezed to exist only been pushed to the sidelines for brighter prospects. so on one rainy night phoebe had gone looking for him, not the smartest move in the world but it happened. she was clear in her thoughts about telling him this had to be it he couldn't keep coming into her life, tempting fate and alliances but when the moment came the words never came out. instead a different story played out, one that phoebe can't say she regrets but she can't condone it either. it was wrong and should never of got that far.
when she fell pregnant the third and final time, phoebe was convinced this child like the two before it was coops. there was nothing that could change her mind on that, she had even gone as far as forgetting about the night with cole until recently where facts are beginning to show themselves and little effy somewhat gained the ability to shimmer, something she couldn't have got from her nor coop leaving only one option. cole. the guilt plagued phoebe but in a sense she could and couldn't be blamed. could because she did actually sleep with him in the first place and never told a soul. however couldn't because she was indeed convinced that effy was coops. now the truth was more or less seeping out there was nothing to do other than confront the truth even if its hurts. something had to be done and her first priority was making sure her daughter was safe. sure telling coop was going to be the hardest step but that battle could be put on hold , whereas effy's safety and reliability to detail couldn't. having left a note at home, phoebe both hoped and prayed that if she sat here long enough in starbucks her daughter would make an appearance.

''Effy... Elizabeth! ELIZABETH!'' Effy's nap was interrupted by her english literature professor. She had not only fallen asleep through her class but she had missed the bell that signified the end of the day. The truth was that effy rosalie halliwell hadn't slept well for a long time, even when she did it was often disrupted. Part of her was scared she was going to suddenly turn evil like her sister and cousins just because she had demon blood in her. Something that her mother had failed to even mention too her. All these years she had grown up thinking that her father was Coop, a respectable cupid and a brilliant man. Yet as much as she wanted him to be her blood father he wasn't... she hadn't thought about what he was until now. He was her step-father. Cole Turner was her real father, the one that contributed to her genetics. But he hadn't had a thing to do with her upbringing, so coop would always be her father in that respect. She wondered if had know he was raising a child that wasn't his? Giving all his affection to something he technically despised.
Leaving the classroom after a solid lecture that entitled her to more sleep and a lot of homework. She was thankful that she hadn't been given a detention or some other form of punishment. Now finding herself at her locker in which she kept most of her school things and her bag, she dropped her pile of papers on the bottom shelf deciding that she wasn't in the mood for them. Grabbing her gola bag she began the long and harrowed walk home as she didn't feel like asking her mother or father for a lift. Deciding to check her phone quickly, effy placed a hand into her jean pocket and took out her blackbury. Noticing she had three unread message, effy preceded to her inbox. One from her friend ella, one from tom and one from her father. She decided to read the one from her dad first.
eff, your mother left you a note asking her to meet her at starbucks after school. I suggest you go and see her. Love you, dad x
effy crossed the road, still staring at the message in particular the love you. Would he still love her now? She pushed the phone back into her pocket and quickened her pace slightly into town which was a lot closer to her school, only about five or so minutes away. Soon she reached starbucks, the famous coffee shop. Effy put her hand on the door, she tried to push it open and failed. Instead effy used her shoulder and just about managed to open it enough for her to squeeze past. She stood by the counter, searching for her mothers familiar brunette hair. Once she spotted her, effy preceded over to her table by the window taking the chair opposite and sitting down. Effy had always had a way with words, yet recently she had lost her touch and preferred to stay silent rather than have a conversation. Even with her own mother.

* so follow me down, OUT OF THIS TOWN, ( girl you’re moving way too slow, so follow me down, I’ll show you around ). the time ticked by and the day grew later and later. checking her watch every now and again phoebe wandered what was taking effy so long she should've got the message as soon as she got out of school, unless of course she was choosing to ignore it. well she couldn't exactly blame her for it if that was the case. phoebe had alot of explaining to do and it wasn't going to come easy. this she knew for sure. having brought her laptop to starbucks, it comes in handy having a job where you can work from anyway. she switched it on in hope of some sort of an escape from reality so to speak or even just to check if she had any e-mails from any of her daughters or perhaps her husband, who she knew she had to face soon as well. not that one confrontation would be enough, phoebe had plenty of these to come but like anytime before she would bounce back from it she had to. coop had rose her from the depths of despair before which meant he could do it again, well if he indeed wanted to after the one night slips into conversation. phoebe wanted to say it was a mistake but without it she wouldn't have effy and neither would coop, he loved effy with as much love as the rest of the family. so sleeping with cole was a mistake but the outcome of it was a gift.
click, click, click went the tiny keys on the keyboard as phoebe's eyes scanned through her latest e-mails and views, but nothing sprung off the page. sighing a little she closed the top of the laptop only to be greeted with the very girl she had been waiting for. a small friendly smile crossed her lips. she was happy that effy came but the silence didn't boed well for the flow of this little conversation. phoebe knew her daughter could be a talkative one but ever since her sister and cousin had found a darker route this had changed and she had become very quiet and unreceptive. this worried phoebe slightly but it was just a phase she was going through or at least she hoped so. "how was school?" well she had a right to ask that question considering how long ago her school day should've ended. they both needed to find some form of normality and by starting this conversation like any other they could possibly get that. couldn't they?

effy rosalie halliwell did not return the smile that etched into her mother's features. Effy brushed her hair out of her eyes for the second time, it seemed to keep forever falling into them like it was trying to protect her orbs from some horrific site. She took out a pin from the back of her hair and clipped the wavy locks back behind her ear and out of her face so she could see her mother more clearly. Part of effy wanted her unruly fringe to fly back down in front of her eyes so she didn't have to face her mother. For some reason effy felt guilty, her mother already had to deal with liddiyah but now she had effy too. If only she hadn't shimmered, then the ordeal would have stayed a secret. A secret that would come out sooner or later effy knew. She wondered if cole even knew of her existence? She doubted it.
"how was school?" effy looked back up at her mother, school. Well to start if of effy had lost her umbrella and had had to walk to school in the rain. She had considered trying to shimmer but since she had only done it once she didn't want to risk the chance of it back firing on her. Then she had sat through all her lessons, wishing she was asleep. By the time lunch came, effy told her friends she had a dentist appointment so she could skip lunch. After lunch she had art and managed to miraculously produce a painting that her teacher adored so much it was hung on the classroom wall. Then for her last lesson of the day she had fallen asleep for most of it. ''fine.'' effy lied, looking straight at her mother. She wondered if the school had phoned home about her behaviour or lack of attentiveness. Probably not, hopefully not.
Effy took out a bottle of water from her back, unscrewed the lid and took a sip. A sip which turned into a gulp. Then she placed the bottle on the table. Whilst doing all this she never took her eye of her mother. Knowing that things like that unnerved her, especially when effy was involved.

* so follow me down, OUT OF THIS TOWN, ( girl you’re moving way too slow, so follow me down, I’ll show you around ). in almost every situation phoebe knew what to do in one way or another. but this was one of those times where she had no idea what to do, say or even think. there were so many outcomes that could come into play her head was spinning. spinning out of control with no signs of stopping either. moving her laptop to the far side of the table within touching distance of course she couldn't deal with any high street theift just now. phoebe glanced up at effy her smile soon faded into a serious yet calm expression. it was obvious effy wasn't happy and phoebe knew her smile wouldn't make the grass greener for her youngest child. if phoebe's thoughts were correct nothing was going to look green anytime soon except maybe a certain few relatives when they found out exactly what's been going on. green with connotations of envy and disgust defintely made it onto phoebe's list of what her sisters may feel. perhaps not so much the envy but the disgust. what can we say youthful phoebe never did learn that lesson about learning from your mistakes. however now it was too late for any lectures, fifteen years late not that phoebe was expecting to skip the earache, that she was prepared for.
fine was effy's reason and phoebe was pretty sure there was more to it than that, but she wasn't going to push it knowing just how hard and confusing this must be. phoebe watched precariously as effy picked up her bottle and took what seemed like a gigantic sip or was a better word gulp? phoebe presumed either the heat of the moment was getting to her or they just didn't have any green tea about the place. "effy..." phoebe began unsure where to even start, was there even actually a right place to start? well coming out with 'coops not your father but you probably know this by now' didn't seem like the proper direction. meeting her daughter's gaze once more she shook her head lightly. it was always hard for her to concentrate when effy used the constant stare. "if you want to yell, scream and shout go ahead." she continued, knowing that deep down if the genetics were right, she'd probably have aquired cole's temper and ability to bottle up emotions and phoebe knew all too well what doing that could do to a person. although she hoped that effy had the sense to if she was going to yell in public at least mask it enough to save both of them from a magical clean up later.

Effy disliked her mother smiling at her, it told her several things. One that she was trying to comfort her, two that she knew she was in the wrong and three that it was going to get a heck of a lot more awkward and emotional. It was a trait that effy had inheritated from her mother, a smile that showed you were far from happy on the inside. She played with the cuff of her cardigan, still staring blankly at phoebe. She didn't have a clue where to start with her mother, part of her wanted to scream the other give her the silent treatment. Two halves of her telling her to do two different things, her demon half and her witch half. Luckily for effy the more dominant side was her witch, so in this instance she stayed quiet. Her quiet personality was becoming more and more dominant by the day, which was clearly different from her old rebellious self. For better or for worse she didn't really know, but everyone around her knew who they prefered.
"effy..." effy moved her hand to the pocket of her bag and produced a stick of gum, she unwrapped it and place it in her mouth proceeding to chew violently on it. Yet she did not removed her glare that tormented her mother, choosing instead to roll up the blue paper into a ball and throw it into a near by bin. "if you want to yell, scream and shout go ahead." this time effy managed a small laugh, much like cole's. She blew a large bubble and popped it with her little finger. Scream? Shout? Public display? No thank you. Her family seemed to become more and more like a soap opera everyday, she certainly wasn't going to add to that drama even though she was fairly sure her paternity would make a headline in her family's news. Effy was quite tempted to shimmer out and go home, simply just to piss mummy dearest off. But then that would cause a display not to mention a magical one. I got a U in my science exam today. I fell asleep in my English class too.
effy remarked, blowing another bubble . Surely that would get her mother's attention and the much needed argument and disappointment that effy shrived and drew her inspiration off. [/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote]
